Referral fees and what you need to do – with National Trading Standards

It’s important you make your clients aware of any referral fees you are receiving for recommending a service such as conveyancing, legal services or other connected service, so that they can make an informed decision about whether to take up the offer or shop around for a better deal.

We’ve invited in two investigators from the National Trading Standards Estate and Lettings Agency Team to discuss queries received regarding sales contracts and particulars. This will include dual fees, misleading adverts and what constitutes material information as well an update on the new Lettings team.
