As part of our wider investment into our services for lettings customers, we’ve been working on a series of improvements to the final report you receive at the end of a reference with Rightmove Landlord and Tenant Services.
The updates to our best-in-class referencing product are part of our wider effort to provide a fully integrated advertising, enquiry management and tenancy progression system, transforming your lettings efficiency and freeing up your time to spend on building your business.
Over the next few weeks, you’ll notice improvements to the appearance of your final referencing reports that make these reports easier to understand at-a-glance. We’ve also reinforced the technology behind these reports, to provide you with a more robust reference on your tenants.
Improved protection against fraud – We’ve improved the underlying technology behind some of our affordability checks so they’re more resistant to fraud, meaning you’ll get more reliable tenants.
Quicker turnaround time for references – We’re confident that you’ll see a noticeable reduction in turnaround time, which will allow you to focus your time with landlords and maintaining your portfolio.
Easier to understand at-a-glance – With an easy-to-read overview page, our new reports have been designed with a particular focus on highlighting the key info you need to know to determine whether the tenant is suitable or not.
What’s not changing:
Service and human touch. Our friendly team of highly skilled referencing staff will still have personal oversight on all referencing reports, giving you the best chance of securing high quality tenants. And they’ll still be available at the end of the phone whenever you need them.
Your questions answered:
Will your new referencing report consider the same criteria?
Our new report will be as comprehensive as the old version, covering affordability and income criteria, credit history and residential history, just as before.
Why can’t I see employment status and job title in this report?
This information can be found in the application form.
Do I need to do anything?
Over the next few weeks, these updates will automatically go live for all our customers in the RLTS portal. You don’t need to do anything.
Why does my report say Pass overall, when a section failed?
We use our industry-standard criteria and expertise to assess deliver a Pass or Fail final result. Tenant circumstances can vary. In some instances though a section may fail, we may still be able to pass the tenant. For example, if there is a minor recent CCJ of low value.
What does an N/A result represent in a section of my report?
It stands for ‘not applicable’. Used in instances where a particular section was not applicable to that tenant, such as a Landlord Reference for a tenant who’s moved from overseas.
Transforming your lettings efficiency, from lead to keys
These changes to our referencing are another step in our overall journey to offer a suite of integrated, end-to-end tools and services that will improve your efficiency from getting leads through to handing the keys over to your new tenant.
