Building success together

We want to support you in achieving success for your business.
Building Success Together is our commitment to you.

A message from Christian Balshen, Director of Agent Partnerships

“In the last few months I’ve been spending as much time as possible with our partners to understand how we can support you better. I’ve also recently presented at a number of landlord evenings and team meetings held by some of you. If you’d like me to come along to any of your upcoming events, please just drop me an email on christian.balshen@rightmove.co.uk

One of the things I hear a lot is how differently you think about “success”. For some it’s being able have enough flexibility to take your children to school. For others it’s about reaching your financial goals. For all of you, it’s about pride in a job well done.

It’s clear there’s no “one size fits all” version of success. With that in mind, I’d love to hear from more of you about what success means to you, so that we can support you better – share your thoughts below.”

Backing agents’ success with advocacy

Understanding and advocating on your behalf on the issues that matter to you

  • Beck in April, we asked you to share your thoughts on the public’s biggest misconception about estate agency. Thank you to everyone who responded. There were some common themes which came up in your responses, which we’ve grouped below.
    • The most common theme was around home-movers’ understanding of your role. Many of you felt that home-buyers didn’t understand what goes on ‘behind the scenes’ and didn’t understand the intricacies of your role.
    • Many of you felt estate agents were perceived as untrustworthy, with age-old stereotypes impacting the public’s perception as a whole.
    • And many of you felt consumers didn’t value your service, and underestimate how much effort, time and money goes into marketing their properties.

Do you agree? We’re hosting a discussion panel in September where together, we’ll take a deeper dive into the misconceptions you face and how Rightmove could support you in tackling them head on. Register here >

  • With a general election called in May, we launched a pre-election campaign which aimed to put housing into the spotlight and push for industry change.
    • Having heard your priorities for the next government, we proposed key priorities for the next government in our pre-election report.
    • We gained national coverage with newspaper ads calling for greater focus on housing following the first live TV debate
    • We shared insights from our property and mortgage experts on proposed policies.
    • We secured a Q&A with Keir Starmer and Rishi Sunak on how each of their parties would support the housing market if they won the election.
