Celebrating agents’ local expertise in ‘Selling Sunderland’

‘Selling Sunderland’ is a playful parody of glamorous property TV shows and forms part of our mission to give everyone the belief that they can make their move, with the help of their local expert agents.

With help from three local agents – Helen at Bradley Hall, Michael at Michael Hodgson and Sophie at Fine & Country – as well as TV personality, Charlotte Crosby, we’re showcasing three distinctive properties. Blending expert market insights with Charlotte’s heartfelt enthusiasm for her hometown.

The campaign will feature in national press and across Rightmove’s own channels and Charlotte’s social media, inspiring home-movers to make their move, with your help, in 2025.

“At Rightmove, we know that agents are the cornerstone of the property market. Selling Sunderland celebrates their knowledge and local expertise and the role they play in helping people find the right home for them. By showcasing their work in a light-hearted but impactful way, this campaign not only entertains but also reinforces the critical role of agents in helping people find their next home.”

Matt Bushby, Rightmove’s Chief Marketing Officer

Here’s what Helen, Michael and Sophie told us about their city:

“Sunderland’s property market continues to go from strength to strength. From first-time buyers to families and investors, Sunderland offers a wide range of properties to suit all needs and budgets. 2025 is shaping up to be another exciting year for Sunderland and we’re thrilled to see such strong interest in its property market.”

Helen Wall MRICS, Director at Bradley Hall Sunderland

“The Sunderland property market continues to show resilience and opportunity, with strong demand for well-priced homes and steady interest from first-time buyers, families and investors alike. With the city’s ongoing regeneration projects, upcoming film studio developments, stunning seafront, beautiful beaches, and vibrant coastal lifestyle, Sunderland is becoming an increasingly attractive destination.”

Michael Hodgson of Michael Hodgson in Sunderland

“Stabilising interest rates and the city’s ambitious regeneration projects, like the Riverside Project and Crown Works Studio, are set to boost Sunderland’s appeal further this year. With new investments, job creation, and a thriving food scene, the city is becoming a top choice for homeowners and investors alike.”

Why Sunderland?

The top three priorities for home-movers choosing a place to live are:

  • Access to green spaces
  • Proximity to top schools
  • Affordability

With hotspots like Roker beach, Pensa Monument and Winter Gardens, and average asking prices 74% lower than the national average, Sunderland is a great option for home-movers looking to get more bang for their buck.
