In our recent survey of 1,300 landlords they told us the things they value the most. Based on their responses, here are some suggestions on marketing messages that could help you attract more landlords in this low stock market.

 

How to entice self-managed landlords to start using an agent

59% of landlords that don’t currently use an agent are open to doing so. They just need some convincing. But how?

They say they’d be most open to paying for an agent’s services if you could:

1. Achieve a higher rent

2. Guarantee their rental income

3. Help them navigate changing legislation

 

Ideas for turning these needs into a marketing message

1. Offer a free rent review to local landlords

Two thirds of properties haven’t had a rent review in the last 12 months. Show landlords how the market has moved on and the rents you’re currently achieving for similar properties.

2. Shout about Rent Guarantee insurance

With the cost of living crisis ramping up, Rent Guarantee protects your landlord’s income if a tenant can’t pay. Offer it to landlords as part of your managed service and charge accordingly.

3. Run a free legislation event or webinar for local landlords

How to get seen consistently by more landlords

72% of landlords visit Rightmove at least once a week.

They visit the sales pages to research their next investment property, and they use the lettings search to check out the latest market rents.
