How to prepare your agency for sale – with Ellie Hall and Frank Webster
It’s rare for a week to go by at the moment without seeing a story of an agency acquisition or merger in the industry press. Have the events of the past year got you thinking about your options, too?
Whether you’re set on selling and have a clear exit strategy in mind, or are just open to the possibility of one day selling your agency and keen to learn more about what’s involved, this webinar is for you.
We were joined by two industry experts with vast experience on both sides of the transition. Ellie Hall is former Acquisitions Director at LSL Group. During her career she has been responsible for advising on over 100 acquisitions. Frank Webster is a leading property consultant and former Vice Chairman of Finders Keepers, one of the UK’s top letting agents, that was acquired by Countrywide in 2016.
We got Ellie and Frank’s expert advice on:
- What a buyer is really looking for in a potential purchase of an agency
- How the process of selling an agency works – your options and tax implications
- The myths surrounding how purchase prices are calculated
- Practical things for you to start doing today to get your house in order
- What can go wrong in the process and how to address it
More about our experts:
Ellie Hall is an industry expert with almost 30 years experience to date, she has owned her own estate agency chain and held a range of senior positions such as Corporate Director (at Belvoir), Managing Director (at Martin and Co) and Acquisitions director at the LSL property group.
Starting out as a trainee negotiator at Countrywide she still shares the same passion and drive as she did back then. After the sale of her own business, not long after she took up a role in acquisitions and having completed over 100 in her career you could say she knows a thing or two about this process.
Frank Webster is an industry leader, advisor and former vice-chairman of Finders Keepers the hugely successful Oxfordshire specialist lettings and property management company acquired by Countrywide in 2016.
In a 40 year career from estate agency negotiator to vice-chairman Frank has a unique insight into the sector having experienced and navigated the two sides of pre and post sale/acquisition
