FAQs: Minor change – lead & notification emails


What is the minor technical change?

We’re changing the email system we use to send lead and notification emails. We have actively made decisions so as to minimize/remove impact on partners. However, as part of the change, ‘return paths’ associated with lead and notification emails will be changing.

 

When is the change happening?

The change will happen from 15th June. We don’t expect your leads or notifications to be impacted on or following this day.

 

What is a notification email?

These email notifications would include those relating to:

  • Property listing data quality (listing removals)
  • Rightmove Plus (including market share reports)
  • Tenancy Manager process updates (where a lettings agent is utilising the Rightmove Tenancy Manager product).

 

Why is this changing?

These changes are part of important ongoing efforts to further secure the Rightmove platform and protect your data.

 

Is the ‘From’ email address of lead and notification emails changing?

No, the ‘From’ email addresses for Rightmove leads and notification emails will remain as they are currently. See the table at the bottom of this page.

No, the subject lines for Rightmove leads and notification emails will remain as they are currently.

 

I receive leads and/or notifications via email, will I be impacted?

We do not expect your leads or notification emails to be impacted.

 

I use email ‘rules’ to manage Rightmove lead and notification emails, will I be impacted?

It is likely your rules are based on ‘From’ email address and/or ‘Subject Line’. These are the standard ways of managing emails through systems such as Microsoft Outlook.

In the very unlikely event that your rule logic utilises ‘return path’ data, then your rules will be impacted and may not operate as you intend. However, your leads and transactional emails will still be being sent to your designated email address.

If your rules do utilise ‘return path’ data, we recommend updating your rules before 15th June 2026.

 

Where can I check what email address branch leads are sent to?

You can check the email address that your branch leads are sent to within Rightmove Plus, however, you will need the correct permissions. The Rightmove Plus Admin user for a branch can change permissions. If you need assistance setting up a Rightmove Plus Admin user for a branch, you can contact our Customer Support Team here.

 

I receive leads and/or notifications via CRM software, will I be impacted?

We do not expect your leads or transactional notifications within your CRM software to be impacted.
