Branch Names Guidance
Branch names on Rightmove is something we've received a lot of feedback about from agents recently, so we want to make sure all agents know what they can display.
The branch name is intended to help buyers, vendors, landlords and tenants identify where an agent is located.
For agents with a physical office, the branch name contain a single location which matches the branch address, and no other information should be included. For example, the branch name “Birmingham” meets the branch name requirements set out in the Technical Guidelines, but “Birmingham, Dudley and Walsall” or “Birmingham – Lets” does not.
For agents with a virtual office, the branch name should represent the area covered by the branch, using the word “Covering” followed by the town or area. In this case, the branch name “Covering Birmingham” meets the guidelines.
It’s important that all branch names follow the guidelines, and it has come to our attention that not all are. That’s why we’re in the process of reviewing all agency branch names displayed on Rightmove. From 12th April 2021 we’ll begin automatically updating all branch names which don’t meet the above criteria to ensure a consistent experience for all agents.
If your branch name does not meet these Technical Guidelines it will be automatically updated on or after 12th April 2021 to meet these guidelines.
